How hard is it to keep yourself from playing anyone whose rating is 400 points lower than you in the first 20 games? Everyone knows ICS ratings are not something that one should call reliable. And it is not because of the reason you are complaining about, but because of other reasons (ie, formulaes). I would guess that that the current rule has been well tested, and is acceptable by many programmers and GMs, IMs, FMs and what not. Even if it seems a problem, it's nothing big to be concerned about. pavs
