I wouldn't disagree, although in 99% of such positions their "terrible evaluation" is dead right. Just here, the pawn was effectively blockaded and the king was cut off. That is correctable... give us time. :) The general-purpose knowledge about the outside/distant passed pawn is correct. It just takes some tuning here and there to block out the exceptions to prevent mistakes.
