Wether it can handle files that the >professionals cannot, I don't know. scid would indeed do it - it can export to PGN and pops up a window on export which allows various PGN features, such as comments and $xxx, to be exported (or not exported, as the user chooses). From my testing it seems to be able to cope with almost anything which looks vaguely like algebraic notation ... Alastair
