Nobody doubted their honesty. If independence is discussed then it is not
doubting their integrity. But why could they test SHREDDER in times when it was
forbidden to publish its results?  I want a clear answer! I think if that was
possible then it should also possible for at least one tester to buy Fritz8! I
could lend Tony my version! Independence means you test with no direct influence
by ChessBase. But this is not the case. Uri even suggests that they should only
test on demand!
