Brian,

I don't know what is wrong with your system, or compiler, or both, but I have
*much* better results on my Itanium system using recent version of 64-bit Visual
C. And I can easily improve results by double-digit number using profile-guided
optimizations. Unfortunately I am not sure if I can disclose the results, as
system originally was provided under NDA...

One simple question: can you recompile Crafty (and Tinker if you wish), adding
/GL to the compiler command line?

Thanks,
Eugene
