first, you are making a gross assumption when you say "KP vs KP is not
relevant".  Remember that this is a deep search, full-width.  So this particular
database gets hit about 10,000 times during my 12 ply search.  Others also get
hit heavily including KPK and KPPK...

I didn't try this on 15.20, because at the time, it didn't seem to be highly
relevant, since the first position you gave, after 8 plies resulted in a
position that was an announced mate almost instantly....

by "after 8 plies" I mean the original position, then following the analysis
you gave starting with rxb2, for 4 full moves, and then doing the first search
I reported...
