You can try a 12 volt power supply with at least 1A (Ampere) of current. Just make sure you have the correct polarity. Old chess computers were negative ground, now positive ground is the standard. Putting in a few extra volts would make the built-in voltage regulator stabilize even better. I would suggest to bring the unit to an electronic shop like Radio Shack, an excellent source of hard to find parts and technical support. /Jay-R
