This presents a serious problem with rating computers in general.

The ratings do not take into account the opportunities to prepare for a
particular machine.

There is a noticable trend for new computers to do very well, and then start
getting poorer results (against humans) as they become more well known.

A friend of mine, who's an IM, played my TC 2100 (same as GK 2100, but smaller),
at G/10. I didn't understand the position, but he suddenly turned around and
said, "Oh - it's beaten me." and proceeded to reset the pieces to the starting
position! Then he said, "Now I'm going to thrash it". He played it at G/10 again
and beat it this time.

It tends to win by causing mayhem in the middlegame. It's endgame is poor, but
it's general standard is very high for such a small program with only 1K RAM. I
still don't think you can get a better portable at the moment (Saitek are
supposed to have new models out by xmas).
