Subject: Pedestrian - new chess program

I know it's not a big deal but I decided to register Pedestrian on ICC.
I guess I'd like to reserve that name if possible.
Pedestrian is a modest creature, but it has some smarts. Basic facts:

written in MS Visual C++ 5.0
typically 45,000 Nps in middlegame (PII 333MHz)
alpha-beta
hash tables (for evaluations)
q-search (with checks allowed in some circumstances)
null-move (R=3)
no preprocessing
extensions (forced replies, checks, pawn to 7th, promotions to Q, equalizing
recaptures, some other recaptures)
razoring
NO OPENING BOOK
NO THINKING ON OPPONENT'S TIME

Thanks to this forum for inspiration and help.
Getting this far has been a lot of fun - I think I'm hooked. Hell, even my wife
is cheering Pedestrian these days.

regards,
Peter.
