Yes that is exactly right. Do other people also count pawn mobility in the
function ? I didnt do this as I thought it probably wasn't that useful and it
improved speed a tad.

Thinking about it again I guess that this is a good example of a mistake a
beginner is likely to make. Once you spend time working on adding a feature, the
temptation is to make the alteration too effective, causing an over
compensation. I will modify it to 0.03 and give it another test
