Hi, I think that different computer CPU or Hash could have an influence into the length of games. The choice of the opening also (for example thematic topurnaments from a special position Sicilian B87 could favor one engine and not the other thus he would loose in a few moves). An other explanation could also be a time control lesser than the published one (he says a 40 moves/60 min but its a blitz game). I don't want to tell that the someone is a liar but many persons doesn't interest into tournaments with short time control, it's regrettable because a good engine must have good results in all the time controls.
