The only GUI I have written for Chess Tiger was a DOS VGA one. It's Chess Tiger
version 10 (I think a demo version of it called "Chess Tiger Light" can be found
on the Net).

So I don't see what GUI I could port to Linux.

Red Hat 9 is very compatible with RH8. I have switched from RH8 to RH9 in one
afternoon.

I would just advice you to throw away Mozilla 1.2.1 that comes with it and to
download 1.3.1. You lose the antialiased fonts but the browser is more stable
and has spam filtering.

You can also download a better version of Xine that would not work on RH8.

Finally RealPlayer 8 crashes on RH9, but there is just an export command to
issue to fix it.

To answer your question, yes there will be a free version of Chess Tiger for
Linux soon. Without GUI, so maybe it will be XBoard compatible.
