I have a dilema. My Old copy of Wchess works fine, except for one slight but
crucial detail...all of the tokens or installs (a woping total of three!) that
the original Wchess floppy disk contained have been used up. I know that this
method of software licensing predates anything you guys are likely to be
familiar with. Nevertheless they did it this way, way back when (1994). The
licensers also gave users a way to completely refresh the program disk with 3
new tokens (or installs) by including a reset program "reset.com" but you also
had to do the refreshing while speaking with the distributor who would give you
a code number. Without this code number you couldn't refresh the disk.
If any of you are like me (and I'm sure some of you are) and you have upgraded
several times from that old DX4 486; you've reinstalled your chess software on
new machines....please lend me your knowledge and help me get my installs back.
The dealer doesn't know how any more. The author of the program, David
Kittinger hasn't responded yet....I'm like Al Pacino in Glengarry Glenross, "I
don't know I don't know anymore". If you do let me in on it!

Thanks,
Ken
