The only reason you would have to open your case would be to replace your generic heatsink/fan (if that is what you have) with a more powerful and efficient heatsink fan (Thermalright sk 900/800 with delta 60mm fan pushing air at 50cfm). The tools necessary to overclock are in your BIOS. All done thru the miracle of software.
