In position 6, there are 5 men on the board so the engines should have used the 5 piece tablebases. However, both engines give a score of 3 point something. I thought that tablebase probes only gave one of 3 responses: draw, mate in x or mated in x. So if the root position is in the tablebase, how could they return those scores? Do I not understand tablebases or are the engines not actually probing them? Michael
