According to the posts here, the ideal situation would be: with every new release of Chess Playing Software from Chessbase, there should be new milestones with each release so that it would be totally justifyable for one to shell out 50 euros. however the reality is that only the engines change, with some minor changes. The reality IMHO: the chessbase interface is ALMOST PERFECT that it is already tough to improve it; having HIARCS 9 do my thesis would be a nice addition.
