This is what I don't understand either. There is no reason why a program cannot appeal to both "computer chess geeks" and the general public at large. Deep Sjeng has a fantastic engine. Why not marry it to a decent interface and add the needed features to give the program a wider appeal? I've yet finish my response to the author of Deep Sjeng, but my overall question to him is "Why limit your product to the 0.5% of the chess market?". In other words, why not develop Deep Sjeng into something the whole marketplace would be interested in buying and using? Not just those at the CCC? Chris
