When you buy Shredder 7 you get two versions of Shredder, namely Shredder 7.0 in
the Chessbase GUI and Shredder 7.0 in its own "Classic" GUI. The Shredder
version for its own GUI is a UCI engine. After purchasing Shredder 7 you can get
a free update to both versions of Shredder 7.04.

The two engines are identical apart from the interface. I'm not sure whether or
not there are any speed differences caused by the interface, but if there are
they are minimal. However, the Shredder 7 opening book is used more efficiently
(more aggressively) by the Classic GUI, which leads to better tournament
results.
