I thought that I may have been wrong and that you had a point so I decided to test the same position under Linux, using Xboard. Not Fritz 8 this time... and I got the same response. Ruffian sees Rxg6 in one second only. Take into account that the Linux version is somewhat slower than the Windows version (due to different compilers) and you get the same result. I guess that vers. 1.0.1 is somewhat different, and probably weaker than the new version. Which is going to be publicly released in the near future :) Djordje
