 Yep, the method is a tricky book. I have it and can't say it's a must have. But
it is exceedingly pragmatic. And when you mention child books I recollect the
book 'Common Sense in Chess' written by no one less than Emanuel Lasker. It lays
out the foundations of master level chess in a slim package.
