I remember when Karpov was trying to demonstrate obvious human superiority over Deep Thought, but got into serious trouble which may have caused a disgraceful result of a draw, and it took quite a bit of hard work to save the day, just about, and make the win. One could see from that, that next-time, Karpov was going to be much more carefull not to get so close to a draw again! Is it at all possible that a human might be able to treat even a commercial program, even on one proccessor, like that, today? S.Taylor
