The main reason would be that the P4 Celeron is a cut down version of a cut down version of the original design. The original Intel design was pretty good but could never have been produced at a profit as a serious competitior to the Athlon. And we have the branch prediction penalty of the P4 that is a real killer. MvH Dan Andersson
