Thanks! Installation was entirely painless. It works great! I just started a 50-game blitz match against my own engine. My first observations (after 4 games): Measured in nodes/second, your engine is very fast (about five times faster than mine, it seems). However, it doesn't reach very high search depths. I guess you don't use nullmove or other selective pruning techniques yet? At least in 5-minute games, Minimardi is moving far too quickly. It spends less than a second on most moves, and usually finishes the game with more than 4 minutes left on the clock. Considering the short thinking time for each move, Minimardi doesn't play badly. It took a long time for my engine to reach this strength. Thanks for giving us this engine, and keep up the good work! I am very happy to have found a new sparring partner for my program. Tord
