Luck, booklearning and positional learning. Luck is very important in short range of matches. I have my Fritz 8 playing occasionally on the playchess server. Two weeks ago it went from about 2550 to 2350 in a few games. Yesterday I tried again and it moved up to 2500++ in few games. It acctually made 9 wins in a row against pretty strong oposition. (Of course the book learning also helps...) Torstein
