Subject: Chess Tiger 15.1 free update

Author: Christophe Theron

Date: 17:02:26 09/15/03

I would like to inform all the registered users of Chess Tiger for PalmOS that a
new free update has been released: version 15.1.

You can download this version from http://www.chesstiger.com

Just install over your currently registered version and you will not have to
enter your activation key.

This update has been extensively tested by a beta testing team (they had to test
4 beta versions, thank you guys!) and has been released since one full week. I
think I can say that it is very stable and reasonably bug-free (no bug reported
so far).

WHAT'S NEW:
-----------

VERSION 15.1 (September 9, 2003)

* ENHANCED VISUAL APPEARANCE: 2 new piece sets have been added
(for COLOR handhelds ONLY): Challenger and Challenger2,
contributed by Bryan Whitby (thank you Bryan!). Also, icons
have been included in some buttons.

* A TIGER vs TIGER MODE: you can ask the computer to continue
the game playing against itself. Learn how to win in some
difficult positions by watching the computer's optimal
strategy when it plays both sides.

* IMPROVED "NEW GAME" DIALOG: now asks you if you want to play
with the white pieces, with the black pieces, if you want to
play against a friend or analyze a game.

* A "DISPLAY ONLY THE SCORE" OPTION: you can ask the program to
give a numeric estimation of the position and just that: no
best move displayed, so you are not influenced by viewing the
computer's opinion about the best move to play.

* NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF GAMES LISTED: the "Open game"
dialog box can now list an unlimited number of games, not
just the first 400 as before.

* SUPPORT FOR THE D-PAD ON PALMOS 5 HANDHELDS: as usual the up
and down keys allow to move in the game list, but what is new
is that the left and right buttons allow to change the current
view (board size) and the central button allows to change the
  pieces' style.

I would like to personally thank Bryan Whitby for his contribution of the
Challenger and Challenger2 piece sets. They are awesome!

    Christophe
