I didn't know if it was copyrighted material, but was hoping that it would not cause a problem since I acknowledge in the page and I am distributing Maniac as a free software, but if does come up as a problem, then I would remove it from the program. As for the AI.... well it is a crappy AI, it sufficed for my senior project, where I was only to prove that I could work on a 'real' project and they didn't care much for the AI or some of the inner working of the program. However, one of these days, I do want to re-use the GUI, but plug-in a C++ AI of my own, which would use well known algorithms to properly play multiple variants of chess... well one of these days, I hope start on a such a project. Anyhow, I appreciate the interest you guys have taken in Maniac. p.s. At this point I am not working on Maniac, so I don't intend to integrate it into WinBoard (may be in future) and I don't think the source would help much... for one it is isn't commented that much and to some degree the code isn't properly structured (especially since I have been programming in Java for the last two and half years, so looking back at the code and it's use of too many global variables, makes me feel uncomfortable making significant changes... but hooking an external AI, should be pretty easy).
