Subject: About leaving....

Bruce, you clearly miss the point why I am having criticism on you.

In the past there were 2 difficult moderation issues. Decisions were taken.

You have criticism on those 2 decisions made. Sofar so good. Criticism is
good. Criticism can make things better. So this is my starting point.

What I have disliked very much (and still do) is the fact that you in the past
(and continued yesterday) put "labels" or "stamps" on a case you disagree
on.

I quote you again:

[ begin quote]

"I do not believe that moderation should be used to settle personal scores,
which is what I believe happened last year. I think that was an awful
decision, and even worse, an awful precedent. It should not be possible
for a moderator to restrict someone's CCC account as a means of settling
  a personal dispute."

[ end quote ]

It's fine with me that your conclusion is:
"I think that was an awful decision, and even worse, an awful precedent."

It's not fine with me that you "label" it:
"I do not believe that moderation should be used to settle personal scores,
which is what I believe happened last year."
and:
"It should not be possible for a moderator to restrict someone's CCC
account as a means of settling a personal dispute."

These are awful accusations towards the 3 members who left yesterday.

Enrique, Dirk and Moritz left because you keep on saying these kind of
things. You are having an opinion about what happened in the past. Fine
and so does everybody. No need to label it.

Now to yesterday, you simply do it again!

[ begin quote]

"This whole spate of resignations by members of the founder's group
is an attempt to get me in trouble with my fellow moderators, with
Steve, and with the members of CCC, for holding an opinion contrary
to theirs, and for daring to express it in an open forum."

[ end quote]

Enrique, Dirk and Moritz left and what do you try to do?

You try to convince the CCC community that the case is just "personal",
or as you say:

"is an attempt to get me in trouble with my fellow moderators"

You suggest intentions who do not exits.

I have good knowledge of the case. In all the discussions (public or private
group email) I have NEVER seen such an attitude you accuse Moritz, Dirk
and Enrique in public.

You disagree with their opinions. Fine. They disagree with you, also fine.

But to suggest hidden intentions toward you is a) not true b) unacceptable
being a moderator.

So I can fully understand why they left. This forum was created to escape
from personal attacks. For that purpose we appointed 3 moderators. Their
job: keep CCC free from personal insults.

But now we have a (continuing) situation that a moderator attacks its
members.

So this is my only criticism on you. It's not about the contents of what has
happened when CCC was created one year ago till now. It's about the way
you bring things in public implying all kind of things.

That's exactly the main reason why Enrique, Moritz and Dirk left this group.

There are NO personal scores, there is no vendetta, there are no revenge
feelings towards you involved by Enrique, Dirk and Moritz. This exists only
in your mind.
