Sigh... There's a good case to be made when claiming that the default settings are inferior to a multitude of personalities. However, it is irrelevant. The proper testing method is with the out-of-the-box engine. Only change of hashsize to reflect the hardware and extra endgame tables. One could possibly allow not to significant changes on request of the author. In short, the tested product should be recognizable to the average user without special knowledge. Especially if purchase is motivated by the testresults. It's product testing, nothing else. Regards, Mogens
