Sarah,

A strange message from you. Ask Gian-Carlo whether he sent me a copy of Deep
Sjeng 1.4 beta 11 or not before you make artful remarks. I got a regular copy
straight from him; it is as simple as that. The unpleasant thing was that for a
moment I had a feeling I was doing something really bad, just because of the
timbre of your remark. Well... Back to the position we've been discussing, in
view of how different engines see it. I think that Ant had a winning position,
so do some of the chess programs I have tried. Nothing strange about it.

Interesting thing is that you referred to a list of people who have the Beta,
etc. Again, please check it with Gian Carlo, he'll tell you the same thing I
told you. As a matter of fact I have a bunch of DS betas... starting from Beta
7 or 8 up to Beta 11, all emailed to me by Gian Carlo. You seem to be
misinformed. Pity.

BTW, if you think that I suggested, even obliquely, that Deep Sjeng is weaker
than Ruffian, I will tell you right off: I did not. I do not know which of the
two is stronger. Both are very, very strong and play excellent chess. Time
will tell which will turn out to be the stronger of the two.

Regards,

Djordje
