In the early versions, yes.

Not anymore. Just have a look at the lines it displays.

Instead, it has a very sophisticated QSearch.

But you don't need to save all those QSearch nodes. You just need to have a more
efficient QSearch.

It is possible to have only 0.5 to 0.3 QSearch node for every nominal search
node. You won't beat that with a SEE.
