Well, I admit that the description in "Comet's online manual" ENGLISH.TXT is a
bit short:
        log             open/close output into log file COMET.LOG

So, you have to enter the command "log". The corresponding output will be
appended to the file COMET.LOG. In case this file doesn't exist, it will be
created. Once again entering "log" will terminate the log-file mode.
