Huh?  You must be thinking of another event.  The final rounds definitely
changed the standings in CCT5.

  7          Yace        6.0
  8          Ferret      6.5
  9          Crafty      7.0
             Ruffian     7.0
             Yace        7.0

The round 9 pairings included Ferret-Ruffian, Comet-Yace, Quark-Pepito, so the
top engines were still getting paired at the end.  CCT5 had 45 entries, and I'm
sure we'll reach 50 this time.  9 rounds doesn't seem like too many.  I do agree
that a one-weekend format is the way to go.
