In the same way as Rebel, I guess (see Ed's page for details). If you just include x-ray attacks in your attack tables, it is fairly straightforward. It is not always 100% accurate, but in practise it works very well. I do something very similar myself. What I would really like to know is how to do this without really big lookup tables. I will probably try porting my engine to PalmOS some time soon, and a lookup table of several hundred KBs will obviously not work well there. Because Rebel used to run on slow dedicated chess computers with limited memory in the past, I guess there must be a way. Ed, are you listening? :-) Tord
