Hello--

I find CSTal to be my favorite program due to its style of play, which is
markedly different than the rest of the commercial programs. The currently
available version is probably not as strong as Rebel 10 or Hiarcs 7, etc, but
unless you are an IM or higher that should make no difference for you if you are
playing it. Harald likes to play computer versus computer, so his preference is
different. Since you are a good player, I think you will enjoy it very much.

I do not know about the mentoring capabilities, but Chess mentor is hard to beat
with the masters giving instructions in the later courses.

The Windows 95/98 version should be shipping in January, according to Chris
Whittington.

If you do purchase the current one, make sure you have the ability to turn off
dual-page read/write mode on your graphics card or you will get mouse trails
erasing your screen. ATI has a VESA driver capable of doing this. Cheaper cards
should not have the problem in the first place.

Since you are an addict, I find it surprising that you would ask before buying.
Are you in a treatment program for computer chess softwareholics now?
