That is NOT "for sure." The engine may or may not have sent the appropriate signal to the GUI. When the tournament organizers agreed to allow the use of the Fritz GUI, they also by necessity agreed that the software-to-user announcement which was to appear on the PC's monitor would be generated by the GUI and would be in the format currently used by that GUI. They, in effect, agreed to the format of the message in advance. It was too late to argue that the format was unacceptable when the message actually appeared. The tournament organizers had already accepted it before the game. Jaaap's argument that the format was improper was itself improper. A very bad decision on Jaaaap's part!
