I'm definitely running in 64 bit mode.  IE instructions like this:

movq val, %rax
  or
movq val, %r8

This is a 64-bit enabled version of Linux and GCC.

I really can't run a 32 bit comparison as this machine is running a Suse
distribution with 64 bit kernel and 64-bit GCC.
