I can add that if selling your program is important for you then you should try
to prove things by participating in tournaments with equal hardeware.

commercial programs like Deep Sjeng and Ruffian won WBEC and I guess that it
help them to sell more copies.

Note that at least in the case of Deep Sjeng it participates also in world
championships so there is no contradiction.

I did not buy them but I may consider to buy one of them in the future.
Today it seems that both The king and smarthink also have chances for the first
place.

You do not trust the ssdf but when I see that you do not participate in a single
tournament with equal hardware then I cannot believe all your claims.

You can decide not to reaveal your book for WCCC like other commercial who
participate.

If you think that your engine is better then it may be a good idea if you prove
it there.

I believe that WBEC has the potential to be more important for sales than WCCC
because of the following reasons:

1)WBEC is equal hardware tournament.
2)WBEC is more games so the results are more significant than WCCC.

I also believe that WBEC has 2 advantage relative to the ssdf.

1)All the games are available.
2)Learning is less important than ssdf because only 4 games are played between
every 2 opponents.

some commercial programs(Deep Sjeng,Ruffian,The king,Gandalf,Rebel) already
participate in WBEC.

I am interested to know if programmers of other commercial programs plan to
participate in WBEC in the future by supporting winboard(specifically Junior and
Tiger when the authors write from time to time and this is the reason that I
added the names of the programmers to the title).
