Perhaps in order to get more games against human opponents? When I started
playing with Gothmog on the ICC last summer (the first games were played on the
3rd of July last year), I guessed my blitz rating at 2000, which turned out to
be
quite realistic. Initially I got a lot of games against human players of widely
differing strengths. Since then the rating has slowly climbed, it is now at
2725. During the half year Gothmog has been playing on ICC, I have noticed that
the number of humans who want to play the engine decreases when the engine
strength increases. I now almost exclusively play against other computer
accounts.

I expected that at least the number of GM-level human opponents would increase
when the engine got stronger, but this hasn't happened. During the first few
months I had a lot of interesting games agains FMs and IMs, but these have now
disappeared. I never get any games against GMs.
