I should warn you, however, that the current version is not quite as strong
most people seem to believe.  It has been rather lucky with its initial
results.

Yes, it is an old and reproducible bug.  It's there in xboard, too.  Even
though I have been aware of the bug for more than half a year, I have
never bothered to fix it, because I never thought the engine would be
strong enough that anyone would want to use it for analysis.  Apparently
it is time to fix it now; I will try to do it before the next release.
