For Tiger, I'm afraid you won't be impressed. On my Tungsten T (with a 144 MHz
processor), the "Speed index" (found in the "Options" menu) reports a TigerMark
of 0.73.
From what I have heard, this is slightly slower than a 33 MHz Dragonball
processor.
Of course, the ARM will blow the Dragonball away completely when Christophe
finally
finishes his ARM-native version.

Feel free to suggest a position if you want, and I'll let Chess Tiger and Chess
Genius
analyze them on my Tungsten T. I'm not sure there is much point, though. If
you
just want to run the 68k versions of the engines, the ARM Palms are not that
good,
and you can just as well get yourself a high-end 68k unit.

So far, the only ARM-native engine available is Chess Genius. It doesn't make
much
sense to compare the speed of the ARM engine to the 68k engine in the case of
Chess Genius, because they are two entirely different versions of the engine.
The 68k version is the old Mephisto Roma, while the ARM version is comparable
to Lang's latest PC versions.

I find the ARM-native Chess Genius to be extremely impressive. It searches
around
25,000 nodes per second on my Tungsten T. I guesstimate that the difference in
playing strength compared to Tiger is at least 150 Elo points.

These are all roughly the same from a performance point of view, I think.
The processor speeds are not that different.
