As far as drawing with Kasparov -- increasing hardware speed for better results vs. humans is definitely not as linear as vs. other computers. When Hiarcs played GM Bareev in January of 2003, it used a normal household PC (single processor AMD XP 2400+) and tied the match 2-2. Deep Junior and Deep Fritz both used Quad or 8-way Xeon boxes in their matches vs. Kramnik and Kasparov and drew also (as an end result.) However, hardware would become a bigger issue perhaps, if the same Hiarcs setup were to play vs. Fritz or Junior and one of the server machines above. (Disclaimer: I am only pointing out an idea to consider. Obviously there are many variables not mentioned in the above examples that had an influence on the outcomes.) -elc. > > > > How does the hardware of ICC monster Pure-Harcore compare to the used in the >Kasparov vs X3DFritz Match?
