Subject: diminishing returns

have any tests been done to see the elo difference between a version of a
program playing at 16 ply max with a version playing 15 ply max.

at smaller ply I believe it was 150-200 ply difference. Is it still the same,

and how many games would you need to play before you could be confident that it
was so. ?


If there was material only eval would the difference be the same.
