MY SOLUTION: Some special debug code (see below) suggested by John Merlino for CM6000 use with Win 2000 PRO was added to the cm.ini file [located under c:\Programs\CM6000 or CM8000\ folder]. This fix turned off the problem sound routines (apparent source of the startup problem--probably incompatible with my sound card or motherboard with onboard sound) and allowed the program to startup and run. I only do overnight game analysis, so sounds are not important to me. Here's my debug code (I located it at the top of my cm & cmDefault files): [debug] check_cd=0 NoAudio=1 Also, if I recall correctly, sometimes it may not run if it is looking for the startup Josh Waitzkin video, if that file hasn't been saved on your harddrive, or isn't on a CD in your CDROM drive. You can turn off CM6000 so it doesn't try to load & run this video, also by tweaking the cm.ini file. Hope this helps, --Steve
