There hasn't been much progress since the last public version, which was released about a month ago. I have added some new endgame knowledge, and experimented with and rejected a few new search ideas which turned out not to work. This year I haven't really been working much on my chess engine. Instead, I have focused on writing an engine which plays Glinski's hexagonal chess. Hexagonal chess is (IMHO, of course) much more fun to play than rectangular chess, but the bigger branching factor and the less computer-friendly board shape also makes it a more difficult game to program. How is the work on your program going? I read elsewhere that you hope to release a public version some time soon? Tord
