As Mike said, additional time on a fail low is _critical_.  Occaisionally you
will get screwed by this as the move to play is more or less forced, but this is
a _huge_ win on average.  I actually extend time on fail high as well - I have
had some instances of "finding a good move, and then finding a better move", or
at least enough to use it.
