It is encouraging to read that you your engine is more than 4 years old. It means that at least I can say that I have less experience in computer chess relative to you as an accuse for the fact that gothmog is probably stronger. I had not a playing program before 2002 I worked a lot about my move generator in 2001 and maybe also in 2000 (I am not sure when I exactly started) but I consider the age of my program based on the time that it played the first game and it was only in 2002.
