grandfathering current users does not improve this idea-- it makes it worse! if an economic discriminant must be used as a deterant (like paying for e-mail services)--and i disapprove of this scheme-- then we should charge a very low nominal user fee ourselves. the very process of paying for anything on the net certainly destroys the anonynymity that swami strives for. how about 1 euro for evry two years, applicable towards a chessusa.com purchase--assuming this does not create a book keeping problem for our patron ss. i really think sending 10 meg files around to prove we can do so is a waste of bandwidth or an april fool's prank.
