I'm quite sure that the contracts between SMK and Chessbase are different from
these between Theron and Chessbase. For the excusivity of Shredder for chessbase
SMK should and probably will receive a bonus. Obviously Theron valued the
possibilty to make more money through selling his engine to other companys as
well higher than Chessbase its right to exclusivity. With SMK it was probably
the contrary.
This is the basis of a so-called market economy.
