  Some interesting and quiet useful additions to UCI : and the clarifications
help a lot.

I have one proposal - I think something similar was raised below too ...

Something similar to the "result" command in xboard.
This will not only help in learning - but can also be used by programs to clear
caches , whatever minimal state management the engine has to do ...

I understand that the basic idea of UCI is to make engines as stateless as
possible , and you mentioned that learning should be a GUI function -
But, considering that you have "ownbook" - should not the protocol be complete
so that complete handling of book maybe handled by engine ?
Also , I positional learning which is not directly related to book learning -
that will also require a gameend/result sort of command ....

Also , I prefer clearing caches/state tables at end of game rather than begining
of a game (unless it was not cleared earlier so that I will have to clear them :
saves me some time ....)
