Hello there, I am new to this forum, so I am not sure if this problem has been discussed before. However I often play on the playchess.com server with my shredder 8 engine and home made book, and seem to get the same problem all the time after the FIRST game. Then the HD (where the book is stored, and not write protected) will start working for several minutes, it is probably updating the book info since i play with learn mode enabled, but why does it take so long?? On playchess.com this means that i will automatically get a loss, even if the game is decided. The problem only happens after the first game, after that there is no delay after the games. I thought it was a virtual memory problem but i have tried raising/lowering it many times with no luck. I use Win XP and have plenty of memory installed...any help would be appreciated, Rasmus Joergensen
